I have worked in various aspects of finance since leaving school and run my own mortgage business for over two decades. I first looked into equity release about 7 years ago on behalf of my mother. Having seen what was on offer and talked it through, we decided it was the right thing for her and as a result, she was able to re-do her kitchen, and bathroom, decorate and have money set aside for a cruise to Norway. Having run a mortgage business for almost 20 years, the next logical step was to offer this opportunity to our clients. My mum’s experience really opened my eyes to just how competitive, flexible, and easy the modern-day equity release market was.
Having gone through the process with mum, I believe I can see the journey from both sides of the story. I hate it when I receive bad experiences in customer service when I am out and about and as such, I always want to ensure I treat people as I would want to be treated. Timely, clear, and concise communications. I understand the world of finance I live and breathe it, but most people only review their mortgages every 5 to 7 years and only look at equity releases once.
Away from the office, I enjoy being outdoors, be it walking in the great Bushy Park or along the Thames or indeed paddle boarding or kayaking on the river itself. Being on the water is a massive means of relaxing for me and I look forward to the warmer weather. Coffee, cake, and socialising and of course I enjoy a glass of wine at many of the buzzy cafes in and around East Molesey and Hampton Court. My wife and I regularly catch the train to London and enjoy everything it has to offer, particularly live music in small venues.
I love getting to know clients so I can understand their circumstances and goals. I will look at the whole picture of your finances, so any products that are recommended will be suitable for you. It is important to take the time to explain everything, go over everything and make fully informed decisions. I am very happy to work remotely by phone or zoom and or see people face to face. Most often this process starts off by phone and ends up with positive in-person conversations. Any initial consultation is free of charge, with no obligation to proceed. Not everyone goes ahead but at least they know for the future what is available should they wish to.
The amount of money you may be able to release from your property will be dependent on various factors, including your age and the value of your home. Contact us to find out more.
